FLIP PROGRAMMING JOURNAL

(2/19/26) DAY 0:

Hello! This is the first day of my journal. I have no idea how long I am going to keep doing this, but I started writing in a google document so I can record what I did for learning HTML, as well as other things that happen on a day to day basis. I just made my account on neocities, and the only programming experience I have had before this is my 5 year journey coding on scratch (if you could even call THAT coding). It's 10 PM now, which means I sadly cant start learning HTML, but hopefully I can learn the basics by this weekend!

(2/20/26) DAY 1:

I officially moved the programming journal here! I typed the previous entry on a google doc, but after 30 minutes of trial and error, I can easily type my entries here now! I also programmed a feature where you can go back and forth between this journal and the main website! (revolutionary stuff, I know). Welp, looks like I gotta get back to reading the tutorials. I will prob spend the rest of my time messing around with html and update when I make new features or pages.

(2/21/26) DAY 2:

Today was the first day that I really started to struggle with programming. I am pretty sure my code has errors that would be easy to fix if I wasn't a noob who had no idea what they were doing, but I guess that problem will be solved by future me. Anyway, I changed the background of the main website! Yippee! I mostly spent time learning about CSS and HTML, which is why there were not a lot of updates. It's a pain to wait for the website to update, but hopefully all the changes I made will be updated by the time I wake up tomorrow. I dunno, I just want to get to the part where I can post my very cool art and talk with peeps so I won't have to rely on social media for everything.

(2/22/26) DAY 3:

I think I am starting to get used to programming with HTML now, I finally changed the website to a slightly better color palette (The neon blue with white definitely was an eyesore). I even was listenin' to Femtanyl's recent release named "MAN BITES DOG" while coding these quality of life updates on these pages. I also got rid of the form because I couldn't figure out how to properly program it to do something other than send you to a 405 error. Finally, I added a placeholder image where I plan to post my art soon! I bet the 24 viewers who viewed the website were wondering about the tags I put on the site because none of them actually fit the barren landscape that was my website. ;-;

(2/24/26) DAY 4:

I don't know if you noticed, but I skipped a day. That is mostly because I didn't make any noticable changes to the website. Well, now I moved an image down, so I have an excuse to explain my absence. I will most likely be more active here during the weekends, as I am still in highschool dealing with irl clubs and homework. I hope to do so much more soon.
